Grant Fuhr began his career as a teenager while playing goalie for the Victoria Cougars of the Western Hockey League. He recorded an impressive 78-21-1 record while playing for the Cougars, which led to him being selected eighth overall in the NHL's 1981 Entry Draft. From 1981-91, Fuhr was an essential member of the Edmonton Oilers as he appeared in 423 regular season games and 112 playoff games. Fuhr has a number of remarkable accomplishments from his 19-season NHL career such as holding the all-time NHL record for most assists by a goaltender in a single season.
