Jari Kurri was arguably the best defensive forward in the National Hockey League during his prime in the 1980s. He began his professional career playing for Jokerit in Finland, and after three seasons went on to play with the Edmonton Oilers. Kurri’s NHL career started in Edmonton in 1980, and he eventually retired as a member of the Colorado Avalanche after the 1998-99 season.
