Kyle Connor represented the United States at the 2014 IIHF World U18 Championships where he helped his team win the gold medal with four goals and three assists in seven games. Connor elected to attend the University of Michigan, and he was an integral part of the Wolverines. An impressive freshman season began on October 16, 2015, and in his first game for Michigan, Connor recorded two goals and an assists. At the 2015 Great Lakes Invitational, Connor was named the tournament MVP. At the end of the outstanding season he was named the Big Ten Conference ice hockey Player of the Year as well as the Freshman of the Year. Connor was selected in the first round of the 2015 NHL® Entry Draft and signed a three-year two-way contract with the Winnipeg Jets.
