Grant Fuhr began his NHL career at the young age of 19 after being selected by his hometown team, the Edmonton Oilers. His best career year was in 1987 when he recorded a league-leading 4,304 minutes played and 40 wins. That season he was awarded the Vezina Trophy and was also the runner-up to Wayne Gretzky for the Hart Trophy, awarded to the NHL's most valuable player. Fuhr has five Stanley Cup rings and a Canada Cup as well. Fuhr played in six All-Star Games, and in the 1988 playoffs, he recorded an impressive 16-2 record with a Stanley Cup win to end it.
