The youngest team in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey was comprised of the top performers in North America age 23 and under. Edmonton Oilers® forward Connor McDavid was named the captain of Team North America at age 19. This team comprised of eight Canadian players and eight American players had to face tough hockey superpowers such as Canada and Sweden. The eight-team tournament took place in Toronto from September 17 to October 1 with Canada securing their second tournament title since the event was first played in 1996. McDavid showcased his skills by helping his team with three assists in the three games they played. McDavid had only played in 45 NHL® games prior to the World Cup of Hockey but was no stranger to tournament play with gold medal wins at both the World Junior Championships and Men's World Championships. The next World Cup of Hockey edition in 2020 will not feature the all-star teams of Team North America and Team Europe. McDavid has signed this Authentic Team North America World Cup of Hockey jersey in black paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five-Step Process.
